Spring Break trip

We took a vacation during spring break this year. It's been almost 4 years since we've gone on an extended family vacation. Our vacations have recently consisted of weekend trips, so this was going to be a treat for everyone.

The plan originally called for just me and Duc going to Europe this summer. My mom and sister would take care of the kids for a couple of weeks while we went on our 10-year anniversary trip. But toward the end of last year, it became clear that leaving the kids would be harder than we thought. Jacob is 2 years old and has never spent a night without me. He's been very attached to me and would make it hard for my mom to take care of him overnight. Also, we really enjoy going on trips with the kids. We decided to postpone our anniversary trip and take a family trip instead. It's better to go as a family now when we all enjoy each other than when they're older and don't want to be seen with us. Duc and I can go on our trip then.

We decided to go to Disney World. We got a package for 6 days, 5 nights at a Disney hotel. Here are some highlights of the trip.

We took my mom with us because not only does she love to travel, she'll help us with the kids. We chose to stay on a Disney property hotel because we wanted the convenience of the location and not have to worry about transportation to and from the parks. After we landed in Orlando, we took the Disney Magical Express, their airport bus service. We didn't have to go to baggage claim because they will pick it up and deliver it to your hotel room .
