This is the "Pemberton" floor plan. It has 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths and is 2792 sq. ft. Our current house is 1900 sf so this will give us plenty of room to grow.
We were really hoping to get a 1-story house but Mercedes didn't have a lot of them because of the lot size. The city codes recently stated that houses must not take up more than 40 percent of a lot size. The 1-story houses are longer and need bigger lots.
We really like this floor plan even though it's two stories. Josh gets a big bedroom and an area to display all his toys. Kiki gets the room with the big closet. We like that the third bedroom has its own bath. We're making that our guest bedroom. Jacob will stay in our room for a while. We have a few years before deciding where he'll go.
Duc still gets his home office as we're having them change the Flex Room on the first floor into a study. The kitchen will have granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. The layout is different from our current kitchen so we end up with more cabinets but less counter space to display our things. We're still deciding where the fish tank will go. Duc wants to get rid of it but I'm hoping to find a place for them.
