I started making baby food for Jacob a couple of weeks ago. I pureed squash and zucchini and Jakey loved it. My mom fed him some rice porridge the other day and he was literally banging his hands on the high chair demanding more. He also likes to eat bananas and is enjoying his first finger foods. He's already trying to reach for Josh's and Kiki's foods. Tonight, he lunged toward a can of soda. I'm trying to feed him healthy foods but I know it will get harder as he grows older. Kiki had her first french fry at 10 months because she cried so hard when she saw Josh's Happy Meal.
I know that I have a limited amount of time to shove veggies down Jacob's mouth. Both Josh and Kiki were veggie eaters until they were about 2 years old. That's when they decided they only want to eat carbs. This summer we decided that they kids should try new veggies. It failed. They currently only eat a few veggies: corn, peas and carrots, potatoes, green beans and sometimes broccoli. When I started making food for Jacob, I had the idea to sneak some veggies into the big kids food. I've been blending pureed cauliflower with their rice and they never knew the difference. Duc doesn't eat as much vegetables as he should, either. Maybe I should sneak some pureed food in his dishes too!
