Kiki riding her bike

Kiki riding her bike, originally uploaded by duckytran.

The other day one of the girls down the street learned how to ride her bike without training wheels. This inspired another neighbor to ride her 2-wheeled bike for the first time too.

Well, not to be outdone, Duc pulled out Kiki's little Dora bike. It's a 12-inch bicycle and he had taken off the training wheels a few months ago after we bought a 16-inch bike for her. He was waiting for her to turn 5 and teach her how to ride a bike on the Dora bike. It's smaller and would be easier to learn.

I was down the street talking to a neighbor when I saw Duc and Kiki going down the street on her old bike. He was holding the back of her bike as she pedaled. I remember thinking to myself that Duc would have to be very patient with Kiki because it might take a while before she learned how to ride a bike. It took Josh about a week to learn how to ride a bike and it might take longer with Kiki because she was only 4 years old.

Well, I saw them come back, and this time, Duc was running behind Kiki. She learned how to ride a bike in less than 5 minutes! All the kids and parents were amazed at this little person on a little bike.

She was so happy she made this big accomplishment. That's our Kiki.
