The kids have been bugging Duc to take them camping. They've never camped out before so he set up a tent in the back yard to see if they could handle being outdoors. They started the night by making s'mores in the fire pit. Some of the neighborhood kids also got to make s'mores with us. They really enjoyed that.
So after the s'mores, it was time for bed. Duc inflated an air mattress and settled inside the tent with Josh and Kiki. They watched movies on the portable DVD player and got ready for bed. I opted out of the experiment and stayed inside with Jacob. Duc thought they were only going to play and have fun inside the tent and then want to go inside to sleep. He was wrong. They actually slept the whole night in there! It was windy and chilly but they had plenty of blankets to keep warm. They were so excited about camping when they woke up the next day. It was a fun time and now they can't wait to goto an actual campsite and sleep under the stars.
