Josh turns 7 years old

Joshua turned 7 years old on Feb. 20. I can't believe he's already in the first grade and is doing so well in school. It seemed like yesterday that we were taking a small, fragile baby home from the hospital. Now he's a spunky, active older brother to two younger siblings. Josh had three birthday celebrations this year. One party was in Bay City with Thanh's parents. The second was at his school and the third was at our house.

This was his birthday party in Bay City. My mom was still recovering from her car accident and she was sad she had to miss a birthday party so we had one for him when we came home to visit. We got him a simple Oreo cake and used whatever candles we had at home. These were the candles from Bea's 25th birthday. We used them because 2+5=7.

This is his birthday celebration at school. He shares a birthday with Kenneth, a classmate. Josh says he and Kenneth were born on the same day and in the same year! Kenneth's family brought cupcakes and juice for the kids. I made personal-size dinosaur cakes and brought grapes. The kids had a lot of fun celebrating the double birthdays.

His big birthday celebration involved his childhood friends and new neighbors. We had Mad Science come to the house and put on a science show. They did various science experiments and then had the kids make slime. Then they made cotton candy for everyone. We held the party at our house and there was plenty of room for the 20-plus kids and their parents to roam around. In the four months since we've moved into the house, we've hosted about seven parties and get-togethers. This is truly a fun party house.
