New deck

We recently had a deck installed in the back yard and it looks so nice. When we moved into the house, Duc already planned for a deck and had the landscapers not put sod or place sprinkler heads in that area. He planned to build a deck and pergola by himself. It would be the biggest project he's ever tackled.

After settling into the house for a few months and with a list of smaller projects still waiting to be done, Duc realized that building a deck would be too much for him to handle. So he called Daniel. Daniel is a carpenter who worked on our house while it was being built. After we moved in, Daniel added more crown moldings in the house and built a gate for our back porch. We knew he was good so Duc asked him to build our deck. Daniel did a great job and worked through the cold and rain.

This is the finished deck. We decided to hold off on the pergola because the back yard gets plenty of shade in the afternoon. We're glad we decided to have someone else build the deck. My sister gave us her patio set because it was too large for her deck. The big umbrella provides more than enough shade during the day. We've already had many dinners outside and the kids love to ride on the wooden swing. We plan to be outside a lot this summer and the deck is the perfect addition to the house.
